Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program is required.
  • Must have CPR Level C and NRP certifications.

Responsibilities

Salary

The salary range for this position is CAD $37.89 - $47.31 / hour.

Detailed Overview

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory therapy, assists with in-service education, and contributes to program development.

Responsibilities
  1. Performs assessments, interventions, and follow-ups related to respiratory therapy, including assisting with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, supporting mechanical ventilation for patients of all ages, airway management, patient evaluation, and daily patient care.
  2. Maintains documentation, ensuring reports, records, and workload statistics are complete and accurate.
  3. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care goals and program issues.
  4. Monitors and maintains respiratory equipment, reports supply needs, and maintains logs.
  5. Engages in quality improvement activities, including developing and evaluating procedures and patient materials.
  6. Provides in-service education as needed.
  7. Participates in meetings and committees, contributing to problem-solving.
  8. Involved in respiratory therapy student education and staff/community in-services.
  9. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care exam, eligibility for membership with CSRT and BCSRT, current CPR Level C, and NRP certification.
