Job description

The Opportunity.

We're looking for a Resourcing Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Project Operations Manager, you'll sit at the centre of how Isaac deploys its most valuable asset - its people - designing the high-performing teams that deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients and partnering with our leaders to make the calls that shape every engagement. If you're eager to learn, love a complicated puzzle, and want to make a meaningful impact, this could be a great fit.

Who we are.

While technically we’re an operational consultancy, we don’t like to call ourselves consultants. We’re a collection of engineers, innovators and creators who work with companies across industries to simplify the complex, realize untapped potential, and uncover opportunities. We know that our people are our superpower and loving your Monday to Friday is important to us. We’ve been recognized as one of the top 10 Best Places to Work in Canada for the past 6 years, and number 1 in 2022, which we know has something to do with our culture of rewarding great work with great experiences, fostering rapid career growth, and sharing the success of the business with the whole team.

While we have a flexible working environment, the successful candidate should expect to spend an average of at least three days a week in person at our Liberty Village office.

What you’ll do.

As a Resourcing Lead you will:

  • Own the Detailed resourcing process end-to-end, from intake of a new project through to staffing recommendation, decision, and handover to the project lead, balancing project needs, individual development, and the long-term success of Isaac.
  • Build trusted relationships across our entire consulting team, acting as the go-to advisor on resourcing decisions and a sounding board for staffing questions.
  • Anticipate what’s coming. Partner with project and client leads to understand upcoming demand, highlight trade-offs, and shape resourcing decisions early, driving the group to decisions in the moment.
  • Respond to what's changing. Re-prioritize and re-staff in real time as projects evolve - scope changes, client escalations, sick days, and the requests that land on a Friday afternoon. Reset expectations cleanly when things shift
  • Maintain a clear, current view of who's working on what, who's available, and where capability gaps are emerging across the team.
  • Develop and maintain capacity models, utilization reporting, and forecasts that translate the project pipeline into a concrete staffing plan weeks ahead of need.
  • Translate vague asks into concrete next steps, named owners, and agreed dates, bringing clarity so everyone leaves every meeting knowing what was decided and who does what.
Who you are.
  • You're a strong facilitator. You read a room, frame the choice, and bring structure to ambiguity, pushing a senior group toward a decision rather than letting it drift across meetings.
  • You're mentally agile. You can keep multiple projects, people, deadlines, and competing priorities in mind simultaneously, process complex ideas in the moment, and switch between them without losing the thread, bringing clarity even when the picture is still forming.
  • You're a skilled negotiator. You hold the line on what matters, find creative middle ground when the obvious answer doesn't work, and bring the team along to make tough calls together, framing clear recommendations with thoughtful trade-offs.
  • You're a structured & visual thinker. You break complex situations down into visual, models, and frameworks, and you know instinctively how much detail a stakeholder needs; enough to make the choice clear, not so much that the decision gets buried in detail.
  • You're a relationship builder. You build trusted relationships across all levels and adapt your communication style to what the moment needs.
  • You're highly organized. You juggle multiple priorities, manage details carefully, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
  • You're discreet. You handle sensitive information about people, projects, and business strategy with integrity.
  • You're eager to learn and grow. You actively seek opportunities to build new skills, knowledge, and expertise.
What you bring to the role.
  • 5-7 years of experience in resourcing, capacity planning, or workforce planning is a plus, ideally in professional services, consulting, or another project-based environment.
  • A track record of staffing project-based work, matching skills, seniority, and development needs against project requirements is an asset; we're equally open to people who've applied this thinking in other settings.
  • Comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders, providing data-backed recommendations, and influencing decisions at the leadership table.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining capacity models, utilization reporting, and resourcing forecasts in a fast-paced environment is a plus.
  • Strong experience with resource management tooling (e.g. Float, Runn, Kantata, or similar), strong Excel skills, and a proven habit of using AI to accelerate your work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Change management experience considered a strong asset, particularly in managing transitions and building stakeholder buy-in.
Why work for us?
  • We offer competitive pay with a clear path to partner
  • We offer a future fund bonus of 2-4% on top of your compensation, which you can use however you choose.
  • You can enjoy 25 days paid vacation
  • You’ll do really meaningful work that makes a strong impact for our clients
  • You’ll have the opportunity for rapid learning and career growth with our training and development programs
  • You’ll work with amazing people who genuinely love to spend time together
  • You’ll get to partake in really fun company sponsored activities & trips
  • No weekend work
  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package 100% covered by Isaac

  • We’ve been named Top 10 Best Workplace in Canada by Great Place to Work 9 out of the last 10 years and recognized for Best Workplace for Mental Health, Inclusion and Young Talent
Life at Isaac.

We push ourselves, in all aspects of our lives. You will be given a lot of responsibility early on in your career. As of 6pm on Friday, your only job is to make the most of the weekend.
