Purpose

Develop robust resource and reserve models for Porcupine projects and operations, including defining the scope of analysis at pre-feasibility and feasibility levels, and all associated documentation. Generate simulations for resource categorization, uncertainty analysis, and risk assessments. Support the Long Term Planning Superintendent in delivering these models.

Responsibilities

• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Report hazards and incidents according to site procedures.

Operational Excellence & Growth

• Create short and long-term resource models adhering to company standards, leveraging knowledge in geology, mining, geostatistics, and mathematics.
• Understand reconciliation performance and its relation to resource models.
• Continuously seek improvements in modeling processes.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships with Mine Engineering, Operations, and Exploration teams.
• Plan and execute projects timely.
• Define deposit uncertainties through risk analysis and simulations.
• Support social responsibility initiatives and ensure compliance with policies.

People

Training and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Mine Engineering, Geostatistics, or related field, with relevant experience.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Mine Geology, Planning, or Ore Control, with preferred experience in resource modeling.

Skills and Abilities

• Intermediate English skills (spoken and written).
• Strong background in applied mathematics, problem-solving, 3D visualization, and geological modeling.
• Proficiency in Vulcan or similar software; ability to learn new tools quickly.
• Strong Excel skills; scripting knowledge (Python, Perl) a plus.
• Technical writing skills for documentation and reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Registration as a Professional Geoscientist in Ontario or eligibility to obtain it.
