Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction for middle years students in a Grade 5–9 setting.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY

Grand Rapids School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school with approximately 440 students and is located in Grand Rapids, Manitoba, which is situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg. The school serves the community of Grand Rapids and Misipawistik Cree Nation. This lakeside town offers community services such as cell service, high-speed internet, recreation centre, health center with ambulance service, air ambulance service, two gas stations, restaurants and a grocery store

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor of Education Degree and valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
• A sound knowledge of provincial curricula
• Previous teaching experience
• A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology
• Strong classroom management skills
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life (considered an asset)
• Experience working in a northern community (considered an asset)
