Responsibilities

  • Identify faults in home wiring, tripped breakers, and power failures using multimeters and diagnostic tools.
  • Safely fix or replace damaged switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures, and circuit breaker panels.
  • Conduct electrical safety walkthroughs for home installations to identify hazards and outdated wiring.
  • Ensure all residential installations adhere to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) or local regulations.
  • Inspect and maintain existing electrical systems and provide planning, sketches, and estimates.

Position Summary:

Key Accountabilities:
  • Identify faults in home wiring, tripped breakers, and power failuresusing multimeters and diagnostic tools.
  • Safely fix or replace damaged switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures,and circuit breaker panels.
  • Conduct electrical safety walkthroughs for home sales, renovations, orinsurance evaluations to identify fire hazards and outdated wiring.
  • Ensure all residential installations adhere to the Canadian ElectricalCode (CEC) or equivalent regional building regulations.
  • Inspecting and maintaining existing electrical systems.
  • Provide preliminary planning, sketches, and estimates for installation,repair, upgrade, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Ensuring that electrical system in residential buildings comply withlocal electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Communication with the customer, supplier, and technical support, andother trade staff in order to successfully complete task.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solutionand solve problems.
  • Employees are expected to supply their own tools required for daily jobduties.

Qualifications &Experience:
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercialelectrical services.
  • Valid Provincial Journeyman Electrician certification.

Required Certifications and/orDocumentation:
  • ValidClass 5 Alberta Driver’s Licence and Drive’s Abstract.
  • CriminalRecord Check.
  • Successfulcandidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening as a conditionof employment.
