Job summary

First National Financial LP in Vancouver is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter for Third Party Residential Underwriting to support credit decisions on brokered mortgages. You will review documentation, uphold policies, and issue commitments with conditions, while maintaining service levels in a high-volume environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of underwriting experience, post-secondary education, and familiarity with mortgage processes and BC license assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years mortgage underwriting experience.
• Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
• Mortgage Agent Course and/ BCFS license an asset.
• Windows PC software knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate mortgage applications within established authority limits while ensuring adherence to policies and guidelines.
• Maintain positive relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners.
• Review documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to underwriting.
• Prepare and issue mortgage commitments with conditions within SLAs.
• Prioritize applications to maintain sound risk assessments in high-volume workloads.
• Stay current with industry knowledge, competition, and market trends.
