Parker Huggett is partnering with a respected Ottawa home builder to identify an Estimating & Procurement Manager. You will lead estimating and purchasing teams, shaping costing, procurement strategies, and contract administration for residential projects.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in residential construction estimating, purchasing, procurement, contracts, or cost management
• Experience with production or volume home builders preferred
• Experience leading Estimating/Purchasing teams
• Strong understanding of residential construction costs, scopes, tenders, and contracts
• Proven ability to manage subcontractor relationships and competitive bids
• Solid budgeting, cost review, and savings identification skills
• Experience with NewStar Enterprise or comparable systems; BuilderMT or Bid Manager is a plus
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or Business preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Estimating and Purchasing teams with clear accountability
• Oversee all residential estimating activities including base-home costing, upgrades, and pricing
• Manage tendering and procurement from bid packages to awards and subcontractor agreements
• Develop relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for competitive pricing and quality
• Collaborate with Construction, Sales, Design, and Accounting to align estimates and requirements
• Oversee purchase orders, budgets, pricing updates, and cost variances
• Manage estimating/procurement data in NewStar and related systems
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating procedures, purchasing processes, and cost controls
• Support Director of Operations on pricing strategies and procurement decisions
• Drive team development and process improvements for business growth
