Job summary

Ackard Contractors is seeking a Residential Apprentice Electrician in Edmonton. You will support the in-house Electrical department on residential renovations and new homes, working with the Electrical Manager and Journeypersons. The role provides hands-on training while allowing time off for schooling and apprenticeship requirements.

You will read drawings, pull wires, install conduits, and test circuits. Strong safety practices, math aptitude, and reliable teamwork are essential for delivering

Qualifications

• Enrolled in the Alberta Electrician Apprenticeship Program through AIT.
• Own tools required (meter, cordless drills, tool belt).
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with own transportation.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work safely and pass a criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with residential renovation and new home construction projects.
• Follow direction from Electrical Manager, Journeyperson Electricians, and Site Supervisors.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and code specifications.
• Pull wire, splice and connect circuits, install conduit and fittings.
• Install and maintain wiring, receptacles, switches, fixtures, panels, and control devices.
• Set up distribution equipment and test circuits for safety and performance.
