Job summary

Seymour Pacific Developments is looking for a Carpenter to join our Ottawa site, performing a range of residential construction duties to support project schedules. Read blueprints, frame structures, install windows/doors, and ensure quality and safety on site.

With 2 years of wood-frame residential construction experience and a Red Seal Certification, you will train apprentices, coordinate with trades, and solve on-site challenges while upholding the highest safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in wood frame residential construction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of building techniques, blueprints, and codes.
• Red Seal Certification.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects.
• Physical ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Construct frameworks, structures, and fixtures using various materials.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood and other materials.
• Build or assist in back framing, stair forming and site amenities.
• Install windows, doors, flooring, and cabinetry.
• Perform concrete formwork, framing, and finishing work.
• Inspect and ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Train and supervise apprentices and helpers.
• Collaborate with other trades and construction professionals.
• Troubleshoot construction issues and provide solutions.
• Adhere to workplace safety regulations and PPE use.
