Job summary

Urbis Infill Homes in Edmonton is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our design team. You will take ownership of technical execution from concept through construction drawings for custom residential projects, working closely with our Design Lead and collaborators across construction and interior design.

The successful candidate has a Diploma in Architectural Technology with 3–5 years of residential experience, proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Enscape, and strong knowledge

Qualifications

• Diploma in Architectural Technology with 3–5 years of residential design and technical drawing experience.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape; strong understanding of residential construction, zoning bylaws, and building codes.
• Experience preparing construction drawings, coordinating development and building permits, and navigating municipal approval processes.
• Experience with custom single-family homes and infill projects is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs using manual drawing methods and Revit.
• Create 3D virtual models of architectural designs.
• Prepare CAD drawings and documents for client presentations and permits.
• Manage energy modelling and EnerGuide rating as required for permit submissions.
• Coordinate permit applications and liaise with City of Edmonton for permit approvals.
• Review and coordinate structural components including layouts for electrical and HVAC systems.
• Collaborate with Construction Team to review 3rd party shop drawings and coordinate with construction activities.
• Coordinate drawings with Interior Designer for integrated design outputs.
• Stay current on product developments, code changes, and industry trends.
