Job summary

Liebherr Canada Ltd. is seeking a Resident Technician to service customer sites across Canada, diagnosing and repairing Liebherr machinery with a focus on safety and quality.

You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems, perform maintenance, read schematics, and communicate complex issues clearly. This on-site role requires 5+ years' experience and a Red Seal or provincial equivalent.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience servicing heavy equipment.
• Red Seal/Journeyman license or provincial equivalent required.
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.
• Clear and concise communication of detailed information.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods.
• Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines and drive trains.
• Perform new and used machinery preparation, maintenance, repair or overhaul with component replacement and commissioning.
• Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections and equipment preparation.
• Carrying out fluid checks, oil/filter changes, lubricants and filter replacements as directed.
• Submit reports and technical documents accurately and timely.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in line with policy.
• Support shop repairs and other duties as assigned.

Job description

As a Resident Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and servicing Liebherr heavy equipment at customer sites. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machines and components while delivering exceptional service, quality workmanship, and a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, etc. to resolve moderate to complex problems
• Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades
• Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
• Perform pre-delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation
• Occasionally perform servicing on Liebherr machinery as directed, including fluid checks, and sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine lube points etc.
• Ensure components, material and/or equipment is inspected, is corrected to specifications and ensure timely delivery programs are achieved
• Ensure all final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications are carried out and complete
• Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical documents including service reports
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
• Support in Shop repairs/work as requested
• Other duties as assigned

• Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, component exchange, repair and warranty related activities

• You are self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods of time
• Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite
