Job summary

Liebherr-Canada Ltd. is seeking a Senior Field Technician to support the Gibraltar mine project near Williams Lake, British Columbia. The role is field-based with a 14-days-on/14-days-off schedule and 12-hour shifts, offering overtime on days off.

You will perform repair and maintenance on heavy Liebherr equipment in the field, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction. Candidates must hold a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician credential, be comfortable working in remote project

Qualifications

• Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician required.
• Field repair/maintenance of Liebherr heavy equipment in the mining environment.
• Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
• Proficient computer skills and MS Office usage.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train).
• Perform machinery preparation, maintenance, repair or overhaul with component replacement.
• Recondition and repair equipment components and systems.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections and equipment preparation.
• Service Liebherr machinery including fluid checks and routine maintenance.
• Ensure inspections meet specifications and delivery programs on time.
• Submit reports and technical documents accurately.
• Operate and maintain tools and work areas per policy.
• Support shop repairs as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Liebherr-Canada is looking for senior Field Technicians, to support a significant project at the Gibraltar mine,near Williams Lake, British Columbia. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced technicians to bring their expertise and play a key role in the success of this initiative.

On this project, you will work a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule, with 12-hour shifts, and with the opportunity for overtime on days off. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective repair and maintenance of machinery and components on heavy equipment, in the field, ensuring a high level of service quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, inspect and diagnose Liebherr machinery and components including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, engines, gearbox/drive train, etc. to resolve moderate to complex problems
• Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul usually requiring component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades
• Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
• Perform pre-delivery inspections of equipment and new & used equipment preparation
• Occasionally perform servicing on Liebherr machinery as directed, including fluid checks, and sample pulling, oil and filter checks, changing lubricants, replacing filters, greasing machine lube points etc.
• Ensure components, material and/or equipment is inspected, is corrected to specifications and ensure timely delivery programs are achieved
• Ensure all final verifications specified in work instructions, scope of work, verbal communication and specifications are carried out and complete
• Accurate and timely submission of reports and technical document including service reports
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment and work areas in accordance with company policy
• Support in Shop repairs/work as requested
• Other duties as assigned

Competencies

• Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician
• Comfortable working on a 14-days-on / 14-days-off schedule, with 12-hour shifts
• Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components
• Demonstrated diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, component exchange, repair and warranty related activities
• Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
• You are able to effectively communicate detailed and complex information in a clear and concise manner
• You are self-motivated with the ability to work alone, unsupervised for extended periods of time
• Fully proficient with computers and Microsoft Office suite
