Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include High School Diploma or GED.
• Mental Health Worker Certificate from a recognized college/university in social/behavioral science.
• Food Hygiene Certificate/Community Care Food Handlers Certificate.
• Two years related experience.
• Emergency First Aid/CPR Certificate.
• Class 5 Driver's License.
• Medical Certification of capability of carrying out assigned duties.
• Compliance with the TB immunization program of the Ministry of Health.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living under supervision.
• Develop and participate in individualized care plans.
• Assess and document residents' needs and progress daily.
• Model independence and support community involvement.
• Plan, implement and evaluate social and recreation programs.
• Administer medications and monitor effects per Pharmacy Policies.
• Ensure safety per WorksafeBC standards.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals and manage supplies.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and general house duties.
