Job summary

Optima Living in Edmonton is seeking a Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for residents to medical appointments, outings, and events. Reporting to the Recreation Manager, you will help residents board and exit, assist with mobility aids, and maintain clean, well-delivered vehicles.

The role requires a valid Class 4 driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and the ability to work independently and with compassion in a senior living environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating larger vehicles (e.g., shuttle bus, van).
  • Maintains a valid Class 4 driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract.
  • Maintains CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to assist residents with varying mobility and cognitive abilities.
  • Computer literacy is required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates company vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws and policies.
  • Transports residents to medical appointments, outings, and events.
  • Assists residents with boarding/exiting and mobility aids as needed.
  • Conducts pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports safety concerns.
  • Maintains records of trips, mileage, and resident attendance where applicable.
  • Ensures vehicles are cleaned and sanitized to a high standard.
