Wheatland Housing Management Body is seeking four compassionate, reliable, and resident focused "Resident Hospitality Coordinators" to join our Supportive Living team at Wheatland Lodge.The successful candidates will providenon-clinical resident support, hospitality, assistance with daily needs, and service coordinationto enhance the quality of life and overall experience of our residents.These positions will also offer an importantafter-hours point of contactfor residents, families, visitors, pharmacies, Home Care providers, and external service providers.
Resident Support and Daily Services:
- Provide basic resident assistance, meal delivery, companionship and comfort.
- Safely porter residents throughout the lodge when transportation is not arranged through Home Care.
- Respond to resident call bells and routine requests within scope.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents.
- Identify and promptly report clinical, safety, or other concerns to nursing staff or the Site Manager.
Care and Service Coordination:
- Coordinate scheduled medication delivery to resident rooms in accordance with organizational policies and scope of practice.
- Assist residents with appointment departures and arrivals, including retrieving and preparing wheelchairs.
- Coordinate routine resident service requests and communicate relevant information to appropriate staff.
- Complete required documentation related to resident interactions, care activities, incidents, appointments, hospital returns, and communications.
Hospital Return Coordination:
- Welcome and assist residents returning from hospital.
- Support residents with their transition back to the lodge.
- Communicate relevant information to nursing staff and families as appropriate.
- Assist with immediate practical and comfort needs.
- Report changes in condition or other concerns promptly to nursing staff.
Family, Visitor & Community Support:
- Serve as a point of contact for residents, families, visitors, pharmacies, Home Care and other external service providers during assigned hours.
- Respond to routine questions within the scope of the position.
- Direct clinical, urgent, or operational concerns to the appropriate staff member.
- Support positive and professional relationships with residents, families, visitors and community partners.
Palliative Care Support:
- Provide practical and emotional support to residents and families during palliative care, within Lodge policies and scope of practice.
- Support family members and visitors with routine needs.
- Provide appropriate comfort measures within scope.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and assist in maintaining a calm, respectful, and supportive environment.
Recreation & Activity Support:
- Escort residents to programs and events.
- Encourage resident participation and social engagement.
- Provide additional support during periods of increased resident activity.
Education & Qualifications:
- Health Care Aide certification or other relevant education and experience appropriate to the assigned duties is an asset.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience working with older adults, or in a supportive living, healthcare, or community services is an asset.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the lodge during a scheduled shift.
- Ability to safely assist and porter residents using wheelchairs and other approved mobility equipment.
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver wheelchairs and other equipment.
- Ability to assist with transfers and repositioning within training and scope of practice.
- Ability to bend, reach, squat, and kneel as required to assist residents and complete routine duties.
- Ability to lift and carry items, such as, meal trays, supplies and resident belongings.
- Ability to work in a physically active environment and respond promptly to resident needs.
Working Conditions:
- Multiple positions / shifts available
- Day Shift:7:00 AM - 2:00 PM -- Two positions available
- Evening Shift: 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM -- Two positions available
- Rotation:
- Four Days On / Four Days Off Rotation
- Position requires regular interaction with residents, families, visitors, healthcare providers, and community service providers.
- May involve exposure to sensitive situations, including hospital returns, resident emergencies, and palliative care.
