Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Penticton, reporting to the Vernon branch. You will repair and maintain construction and forestry equipment in a field environment, using JD Service Advisor and related tools.

The ideal candidate has previous heavy equipment experience, ideally a Journeyperson in construction/forestry equipment, and strong customer service skills. Applicants must meet physical demands and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the construction and forestry Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred.
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and diagnose equipment conditions and perform repairs and maintenance.
  • Order parts and document work orders with actions and times.
  • Operate safely and according to standards.
  • Use tools, instruments, and computer systems for service tasks.
  • Utilize parts catalogs to locate and order parts.
  • Road test equipment and verify attachment operation.

Brandt is currently seeking aResident Heavy Equipment Technicianbased in Penticton, reporting to the our Vernon branch.

This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestrybasedequipment and attachments in a field environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
