Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Lac La Biche, reporting to the Fort McMurray branch. You will repair and maintain construction and forestry equipment in a shop setting, documenting all actions and times.

Qualifications

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in construction/forestry equipment trade or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate working condition, diagnose, repair equipment in shop environment.
  • Order parts and document work orders with actions and time taken.
  • Use tools and computer systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Road test equipment and verify attachment operation as required.

Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Resident Heavy Equipment Technician based in Lac La Biche, reporting to the Fort McMurray branch. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction & forestry based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
What We Look For
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Certified Journeyperson in the construction & forestry equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
  • Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
  • Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
