Job summary

Berkshire Care Centre in Windsor, ON is seeking a Housekeeping/Laundry Aide to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in resident rooms and common areas. You will sort, wash, dry and fold linen and assist with daily resident activities in a warm, person-centred environment.

Responsibilities include following established procedures, using approved cleaning agents, ensuring privacy and dignity, and communicating supply needs to the Environmental Services Manager.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of washer and dryer operations and equipment used in cleaning.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to read, write and understand oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work from the heart and make others smile.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignment and prepares materials for cleaning and laundry tasks.
• Performs cleaning tasks using approved agents and routines to ensure sanitation.
• Maintains privacy and dignity of residents while performing duties.
• Sorts, washes, dries, and folds linen and personal clothing.
• Delivers laundry and clothing per established policies.
• Notifies supervisor when supplies are low or equipment malfunctions.
