Qualifications

• Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• CPR/BCLS for healthcare providers required.
• Active enrollment in the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
• Clear police information check, with the vulnerable sector, dated within the last 6 months.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization and customer service skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily care activities to support independence.
• Monitor and address physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of residents.
• Deliver care under supervision, promoting safety and resident choice.
• Participate in care conferences, unit meetings, and staff meetings.
• Engage in ongoing continuing education and quality improvement of care.
• Assist with site administration duties such as reviewing timecards, scheduling shifts, and recruitment.
