Job summary

Christenson Communities seeks a Health Care Aide for a permanent full-time position in Edmonton. You will deliver resident-focused care within the full scope of practice of an HCA in a home-like setting, respecting each resident and family.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• CPR/BCLS for healthcare providers required.
• Active enrollment in the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory.
• Clear police information check, with the vulnerable sector, dated within the last 6 months.
• Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, organization, and customer service, with a high attention to detail.
• Awareness of accident and injury prevention, hazard identification and control; adherence to safe work practices and procedures, and the ability to problem solve through critical thinking

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with medication administration, bathing, grooming and dressing, and maintain neat rooms and areas.
• Support residents to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, promoting independence where possible.
• Deliver care under supervision that respects resident choice and safety of others.
• Participate in care conferences, unit meetings and staff gatherings as required.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance skills.
• Contribute to ongoing quality improvement through data collection and documentation
