Job summary

Bethany Airdrie is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to support residents’ holistic well-being under the guidance of the Therapy team. You will help deliver recreation programs, assist with mobility and self-care, and document progress in the resident care plan.

The role requires effective communication, observation, and teamwork within a supportive care environment. Responsibilities include maintaining safety, coordinating volunteers, and adjusting activities to residents’ needs,

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or diploma training in recreation or therapy related field is preferred.
• Experience in dementia or long-term care residents is advantageous.
• English language ability required (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Promote resident-centred care with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Document resident care interventions accurately and timely.
• Support safety practices and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
• Assist in coordinating and guiding volunteers and therapy programs.
• Assist in mobility, comfort, self-care and intellectual stimulation under Therapist direction.
