Job summary

Bethany Care Society in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to support residents' well-being. You will implement activities aligned with Recreation Therapy goals, promote choice, and help residents realize independence while respecting their dignity.

Working with an interdisciplinary team, you will document interventions, monitor resident changes, ensure safety, and guide volunteers in therapy-related activities.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
• Rehabilitation Assistant Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year recreational experience in a therapy setting.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English effectively.

Responsibilities

• Promote resident-centered care through collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Document resident care interventions and outcomes in health records.
• Maintain safety and assist in creating a safe environment for residents, staff and volunteers.
• Support and orient volunteers involved in therapy programs.
• Coordinate and participate in therapy program reviews and new program implementation.
