Job summary

Bethany Airdrie in Airdrie, Alberta is seeking a part-time Recreation Assistant to deliver resident-centered recreational activities under the Therapeutic Services team. You will promote independence, dignity and choice while supporting mobility, self-care and cognitive engagement.

The role requires Grade 12, related recreation experience, English fluency and ability to work in a physically demanding environment; criminal background check and immunizations are required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in recreation therapy or related field.
• English proficiency and ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote resident-centered care with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Document resident care interventions per Bethany policies.
• Support mobility, self-care and cognitive stimulation under Therapist direction.
• Report changes to supervisor/nursing staff promptly.
• Coordinate and guide volunteers and assist in therapy programs.
