Job summary

Huawei Canada’s Noah’s Ark lab is seeking a Researcher for a 12‑month contract to push forward Embodied AI and Spatial AI research. You will work with researchers and engineers to develop production-ready AI solutions, bridging research and deployment across real-world robotic platforms.

The ideal candidate has a PhD in CS/Robotics or a Master’s with significant relevant experience, a strong publication record, and proficiency in Python with DL frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field (or Master’s with equivalent experience).
• Strong background in generative AI and sequence modeling, particularly in vision-language or multimodal systems.
• Proven research track record with first-author publications in top-tier venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICRA).
• Proficient in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to tackle Embodied AI and Spatial AI challenges.
• Develop state-of-the-art approaches for Physical AI research and applications.
• Translate problem formulations and model designs into production-ready code and iterate rapidly.
• Design and run experiments across simulation and real-world robotic platforms, including data collection and evaluation.
• Collaborate across research, infrastructure, and robotics systems to close the loop between data, models and real-world performance.
• Contribute to high-impact research outputs, including patents and publications.
