The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is hiring a full-time Research Project Coordinator in Winnipeg, MB. You will administer and conduct research, perform analysis, and prepare materials for department meetings within Health & Wellness.

Responsibilities include literature reviews, data preparation, and coordinating focus groups and interviews, with a focus on Red River Métis health issues in Manitoba. Requires relevant degree and research experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health or Social Sciences or related field.
  • Experience with project management using qualitative and community-based research methods.
  • Nvivo14 training or evidence of proficiency is essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • PHIA and TCPS CORE 2022 certification required.
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs is an asset.
  • Ability to travel and valid Manitoba driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

  • Assist in developing planning options for policy implementation.
  • Participate in design, development, analysis, and evaluation of health issues.

Job description

Salary Range: $47,403.00 To $58,353.00 Annually

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is the democratically elected National Government of the Red River Métis, also known as the Manitoba Métis. The Red River Métis are a distinct Indigenous Nation and People, and Canada's Negotiating Partners in Confederation and the Founders of the Province of Manitoba.

The MMF seeks to fill one full-time Research Project Coordinator position within our Health & Wellness Department located at 200 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Research Project Coordinator will be required to administer and conduct research, perform analysis, and document a review of topics related to Red River Métis health in Manitoba. The central tasks will consist of conducting literature reviews and environmental scans, working with the team to collect, prepare, analyze, and evaluate various types of data and prepare various types of materials and documentation for the inter- and intra-departmental meetings.

  • Coordinate projects, including data collection and compilation;
  • Assist in development of planning options for policy implementation;
  • Participate in the design, development, analysis, and evaluation of various components of health issues;
  • Recruit for and conduct focus groups and interviews with community members on specific health issues;
  • Draft articles, reports, and presentations regarding research findings;
  • Manage the presentation of research and analysis of a broad range of health and wellness issues in order to assist in identifying their implications;
  • Responsible for conducting literature reviews in support of projects;
  • Analyze interviews for core content and themes relating to the intended and other outcomes of the study;
  • Assist in developing communication strategies for the department, including appropriate media and other methods while collaborating with the Communications Department.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health or Social Sciences, or relevant field. Graduate Degree is an asset;
  • Experience with project management using qualitative and community-based research methods;
  • Training on multiple research software. Nvivo14 is essential;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
  • Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct of Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2: CORE 2022) certification is required;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs and services is a definite asset; and,
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
