Job summary

Research & Policy Manager (Temporary Full-time – approximately 16 months)

We are seeking a passionate Research & Policy Manager to lead research and policy development for OLG’s Safer Gambling Unit. This role also involves leading assurance and reporting activities to meet regulatory and accreditation standards.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Policy, your responsibilities include:

  1. Contributing to Safer Gambling program management and policy development based on strategic priorities.
  2. Managing initiatives to achieve program objectives, including measurement and monitoring of outcomes.
  3. Conducting research to improve Safer Gambling policies and programs.
  4. Delivering presentations, training, and policy positions to senior leadership and external partners.
  5. Leading accreditation processes with organizations like the World Lottery Association and RG Check.
  6. Ensuring the effective implementation of PlaySmart policies to manage player risk and meet standards.
  7. Supporting project management and strategy development for program initiatives.
  8. Providing analysis and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
  9. Participating in cross-departmental committees for alignment and information sharing.
  10. Overseeing the accuracy of reports, research briefs, and training materials.
  11. Analyzing gambling data to oversee outreach to at-risk players.
  12. Evaluating intervention effectiveness and making recommendations.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role, with focus on Corporate Social Responsibility and safer gambling.

Education: University degree in Business Management, Policy, Public Health, or related fields; strong research and policy knowledge; understanding of gambling regulations.

Critical Skills: Problem solving, critical thinking, data analysis, attention to detail, communication, relationship management, project management, creative writing.

Flexibility: Occasional travel may be required.

Negotiation & Influence: Effective negotiation and influence skills, with ability to maintain relationships.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze challenges and develop creative solutions.
