Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a registered nurse to support clinical research delivery at the Glasgow Clinical Research Facility across multiple sites. You will coordinate recruitment, treatment, education, monitoring and follow-up while maintaining high standards of care.

The role requires a live NMC pin, degree-level education, and post-registration acute experience. You will join a multidisciplinary team with governance, consent and regulatory responsibilities and travel

Qualifications

• Registered nurse preferably educated to degree level.
• Post registration experience in acute clinical setting required.
• Ability to fulfil criteria outlined in the job description.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Proficient in MS Office and electronic patient management systems.

Responsibilities

• Practice within the Legal & Ethical framework as established by NMC and national legislation to ensure patient interests and wellbeing.
• Maintain a professional manner with patients, colleagues and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
• Develop in the role by using evidence based practice and continuously improve own knowledge.
• Conduct clinical research in accordance with current research regulatory and governance requirements.
• Develop understanding of consent, confidentiality, randomisation and Good Clinical Practice.
• Provide a high standard of care to patients and volunteers participating in research projects and clinical trials.
• Assess, plan and deliver research interventions as per protocol.
• Ensure work undertaken follows the research protocol and trial design.
• Develop and maintain clinical skills and competencies to meet project requirements (e.g., venepuncture, cannulation).
