Job summary

IWK Health in Halifax seeks a Research Associate to provide administrative and research support to the STIC Lab. This full-time, hybrid role requires on-site work at least 3 days per week within the STIC Lab and Research Services.

The candidate will help organize meetings, manage finances, coordinate staffing, and support submissions to the Research Ethics Board, while also assisting with data collection, analysis, and disseminating findings through posters and manuscripts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a health-related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in health research administration is required.
• Experience with health research environments is preferred.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office and data tools.
• TCPS CORE-2022 Certification is required.
• Experience with REDCap, NVivo, SPSS, STATA and other data tools.
• Mixed methods research experience with quantitative and qualitative methods.

Responsibilities

• Organize and facilitate project meetings, scheduling, agendas, and documentation.
• Staff hiring and training; track lab technology and equipment.
• Manage monthly finances; grant budgeting; time entry.
• Oversee staffing for research activities and timelines.
• Review submissions for IWK Research Ethics Board.
• Support data collection, analysis, and data cleaning.
• Prepare dissemination outputs (posters, presentations, manuscripts).
• Interact with patients, families, caregivers, and staff.
