Research Assistant II
GEMINI (www.geminimedicine.ca) is a unique big data platform in the Canadian healthcare landscape, utilizing advanced methods and analytics to extract and standardize data from hospital electronic health records. GEMINI operates at over 30 Ontario hospitals and supports the Ontario General Medicine Quality Improvement Network (GeMQIN), led by Ontario Health, to improve care for general medicine hospital patients. General medicine patients account for 40% of emergency hospital admissions and constitute the largest group of hospitalized patients. GEMINI is a collaborative platform for data and analytics, aiming to accelerate research and quality improvement across Ontario hospitals.
The GEMINI team is seeking a Research Assistant II to support its expanding research initiatives, particularly a project co-led by physicians and scientists from GEMINI and the University of Toronto Faculty of Computer Science. The main responsibility of this role is to lead patient recruitment for a multi-site research study focused on improving sepsis management through machine learning tools. Additional duties include developing research materials, managing study data (collection, entry, cleaning), and co-developing study reports. The role also involves preparing and submitting research ethics applications and other regulatory documents for multi-institutional studies.
