Job summary

The University of Manitoba is seeking a trial support coordinator to assist day-to-day conduct of the SSTaRLeT trial at the Manitoba site. You will assist with participant recruitment, informed consent, data collection and study administration, coordinating with sub-studies and ensuring regulatory obligations are met.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day trial conduct at the Manitoba site: participant recruitment, informed consent, data collection and study administration.
• Coordinate with SSTaRLeT affiliated sub-studies (cost and acceptability sub-studies) and ensure enrollment and data quality targets.
• Ensure site meets regulatory obligations to the trial sponsor and is compliant with timelines and reporting.

The opportunity:

The SSTaRLeT trial (Shorter Regimens for Latent Tuberculosis) is a Phase 2 randomized controlled trial comparing shorter rifamycin-based regimens for tuberculosis preventive therapy against standard 4-month rifampin, conducted at the Manitoba site under Drs. Mayara Bastos, Rachel Dwilow, Michael Onotera.

This position exists to support day-to-day trial conduct at the local site — participant recruitment, informed consent, data collection, and study administration — including coordination with SSTaRLeT-affiliated sub‑studies (patient cost and acceptability sub‑studies), ensuring the site meets its enrollment, data quality, and regulatory obligations to the trial sponsor, McGill University.

The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:

• Bachelor's Degree in a health-related study area, including laboratory analysis techniques.

OR

• Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with one year's = directly-related experience

OR

• High school completion with job-related options with a minimum of four years = directly related experience.
• Health field-related diplomas or certificates may be considered.
• Experience working within a clinical research environment is required.
• Experience with patient/participant contact is required.
• Experience consenting research participants is required.
• Experience working with Data Capture software preferred.
• Experience processing biological samples is preferred.
• GCP, TCPS-Core, Division 5 and PHIA training preferred.
• An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
• Attention to detail is required.
• Demonstrated ability in using computer software related to word processing (e.g. Microsoft Office, Outlook) required.
• Satisfactory clearance of criminal records and child abuse registry checks required.
• Fluent (writing and speaking) in English is required,
• A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
• Knowledge of French an asset.
