Job summary

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto, ON, is seeking a temporary part-time Research Assistant (0.8 FTE) to join the Bloorview Research Institute and work on pediatric neuromuscular conditions and Rett syndrome projects.

The successful candidate will support regulated clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies and registries, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and demonstrate strong communication, organization and critical thinking skills.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in sciences, social sciences or health-related discipline required.
• 2 years of research experience desirable.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Experience conducting literature reviews, data analysis, and manuscript writing an asset.

Join us in building a world of possibility! Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is Canada's largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital. We are a top 40 Canadian research hospital that is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, and we serve over 8,500 families annually.

We are seeking a temporary part-time (0.8 FTE) Research Assistant with experience working in a fast-paced research environment. As a Research Assistant within the Bloorview Research Institute, the successful candidate will work alongside an interdisciplinary research team on projects focusing on Pediatric Neuromuscular conditions and Rett syndrome.Primary focus will be in regulated clinical trials and investigator initiated studies including registries. Strong critical thinking skills, effective communication skills (i.e. verbal, written, interpersonal) and excellent organization and time management are required to successfully carry out the responsibilities of this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Support recruitment of participants and act as a liaison communicating study information with participants
• Prepare research protocols, research ethics submissions and amendments
• Support regulated clinical trial visits and data entry
• Support KT activities
• A minimum of an undergraduate degree in sciences, social sciences or health-related discipline is required
• Previous research experience is desirable with 2 years of experience
• Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet and MEDLINE searches)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience conducting literature reviews, analyzing data, and writing manuscripts an asset
