Qualifications

About The Opportunity

Nova Scotia Health is the largest clinical research institution and health service provider in Nova Scotia, with over 22,000 employees supporting clinical research, healthcare, and support services across hospitals, health centres, and community programs.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator and under the Research Manager's guidance, the Research Assistant will assist with recruitment, administering tests and interviews, collecting biological samples, data collection, study administration, and providing administrative support for clinical studies on depression within the Depression Clinical Research Program (DCRP). The DCRP aims to match individuals with depression to the most effective treatments. This role offers training and professional growth opportunities.


About You

We are interested in candidates with:

  • Grade 12 education
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Science, or a relevant discipline (preferred)
  • Experience in healthcare or clinical research (asset)
  • Experience with mental illness care (asset)
  • Knowledge of diagnostic criteria for mental and behavioral disorders (asset)
  • Experience with cognitive testing (asset)
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
  • Professional demeanor with diverse populations
  • Competency in additional languages, especially French (asset)

Hours

  • Long-term, full-time, 75 hours bi-weekly
  • June 2025 to June 2026, approximately 12 months

Compensation and Benefits

$22.78 - $28.48 per hour. Successful candidates may be eligible for benefits including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
