Job summary

University Health Network is seeking a Research Analyst 1 for the Cancer Education Program at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. You will plan and implement resource development projects, provide research support, and assist in writing proposals and reports.

You will conduct literature reviews, recruit participants, perform statistical analysis in Excel, and liaise with patients, families, clinicians, and partner organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health or Science‑Related Discipline.
  • Minimum one year of related experience in a health‑related field or health promotion/education.
  • Familiarity with health behaviour theories, health literacy and plain language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Professional is an asset.

Department: Cancer Education
Reports to: Janet Papadakos, Director
Location: Princess Margaret Cancer Centre
Salary Range: $27.56 - $41.34 per hour
Hours: 37.5 per week
Shift: 9-5 M-F
Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time
Closing Date: July 20, 2026

Position Summary

As an integral member of the Cancer Education Program, the Research Analyst 1 is responsible for planning and implementing resource development projects; providing research support; conducting literature reviews and needs assessments; recruiting study participants; assisting in writing research proposals; drafting program reports; conducting statistical analysis using Excel; and coordinating projects. The Analyst must be familiar with plain‑language principles as they apply to health promotion activities, communicate and liaise effectively with patients, family members, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, and other UHN staff, as well as with external supportive‑care organisations. The role also includes collecting and maintaining statistics for the smoking cessation program and performing cross‑functional duties as assigned.
