Job description

Job Summary: This hybrid role involves migrating 100+ operational reports and dashboards from JasperReports to Power BI. The Report Developer will collaborate with project managers and business areas to assess, modernize, and migrate reports using Power BI Desktop or Report Builder, adhering to OPS standards and guidelines (AODA, WCAG 2.0 Level AA). Responsibilities include needs assessment, design and development, troubleshooting, documentation, and knowledge transfer. The position requires a strong understanding of Power BI, SQL, and DAX, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills. The assignment is initially hybrid (7.25 hours/day, Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM), but is subject to change.
Location: Ontario, Canada
Responsibilities: - Participate in reporting needs assessments.
- Assess and define the approach for migrating operational reports.
- Design and develop migrated reports in Power BI.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with migrated reports.
- Create and maintain relevant documentation.
- Participate in knowledge transfer activities.
- Work with Project Manager and Business Areas to evaluate and modernize reports.
- Migrate report functionality to Power BI Desktop or Power BI Report Builder.
Required Skills & Certifications: - Demonstrated working knowledge of Power BI Desktop (minimum 2 years experience).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL query languages (T-SQL, PL-SQL) (minimum 4 years experience).
- Demonstrated working knowledge of DAX programming (minimum 2 years experience).
Preferred Skills & Certifications: - Experience with JasperReports.
- Experience in a business intelligence team environment.
- Experience with Power BI Report Builder.
- Experience writing and working with Microsoft Power BI DAX code.
- Experience troubleshooting SQL queries and business intelligence reports.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Knowledge of ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SSDT).
Special Considerations: - The position is initially hybrid, working 7.25 hours per day, Monday to Friday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, but is subject to change.
- The assignment is at the discretion of the Hiring Manager's requirements for the assigned project.
- A maximum of three submissions will be accepted.
