Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks a Seasonal Repair Shop Technician at Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario. You will provide ski and snowboard tuning and repairs for guests and the rental fleet, explaining technical terms in a guest-friendly manner and supporting our day and overnight guests.

Responsibilities include performing bindings work, edge/top sheet repairs, and recommending additional services based on equipment and conditions, while working under supervision and within the provided schedule.

Qualifications

• G license required.
• Physically fit and able to lift 40 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of ski/board construction and binding design and function.
• Must achieve 80% or higher on binding manufacturer exams.
• Available to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Explain technical terms to guests.
• Perform sidewall repairs, edge repairs, installation of bindings, top sheet repairs, and general tune ups (under supervision).
• Make recommendations to guests for additional services based on equipment and/or snow conditions.
• Tune and repair the rental fleet to the schedule directed by the Supervisor or Coordinator.

HOURLY RATE:

$19.52

FULL OR PART-TIME HOURS:

• Part Time: Average 1-3 shifts/week

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The Repair Shop Technician provides ski and snowboard tuning and repairs to our day and overnight guests.

• Able to explain technical terms in a manner that the guest will understand.
• Conduct the following repairs, (under supervision), to both guest and rental equipment: sidewall repairs, edge repairs, installation of bindings, top sheet repairs and general tune ups.
• Make recommendations to guests for additional services based on their equipment and/or snow conditions.
• Tune and repair the rental fleet to the schedule directed by the Supervisor or Coordinator.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• \"G\" drivers license required
• Physically fit and able to lift 40lbs.
• Basic knowledge of ski/board construction and binding design and function.
• Must achieve 80% or higher on multiple binding manufacturer exams.
• Must be available to work weekends, evenings and holidays including, Christmas Break, Family Day Weekend and March Break.
