Job summary

BELFOR Property Restoration Canada is seeking a Repair and Restoration Technician to support restoration projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The role requires intermediate to advanced carpentry understanding and the ability to work independently or with a team to meet client and insurer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare material take-offs, read blueprints, interpret work orders, and apply building codes and construction math to ensure compliance and accurate execution of tasks.
• Perform restoration tasks in line with residential and commercial construction projects from site preparation to job completion.
• Identify and address issues affecting job completion, proactively communicating with the Project Manager and adhering to timelines to ensure quality work and customer satisfaction.
• Foster customer satisfaction by maintaining professionalism, building strong relationships, and ensuring prompt, accurate communication with clients, subcontractors, insurance adjustors and other relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by conducting hazard assessments, maintaining organized and hazard-free job sites, and ensuring proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and PPE. Report and document unsafe conditions or incidents, participate in safety training and inspections, and support safety initiatives.
• Any other reasonable duties as assigned.

With an intermediate to advanced understanding of carpentry fundamentals in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, this role contributes significantly to meeting both client and insurance company requirements. The Repair and Restoration Technician works independently and as part of a team to collaborate effectively in residential and commercial environments. This role is dedicated to delivering high-quality results, consistently meeting project goals, and exceeding customer expectations through skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. 2.Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare material take-offs, read blueprints, interpret work orders, and apply building codes and construction math to ensure compliance and accurate execution of tasks;
• Perform restoration tasks in line with residential and commercial construction projects from sitepreparation to job completion;

• Working Conditions:
• Due to the nature of our business, this position will work normal business hours but may be required to work in the evenings, on-call, or outside normal working hours;
• Perform tasks requiring mobility in tight or confined spaces, sustained physical activity (standing, lifting, walking, bending, kneeling), and working at heights over 5 feet as needed;
• Manual dexterity for keyboarding, repetitive tasks, and prolonged periods of computer use, demanding attention to detail and high levels of accuracy; and
• Periodic travel may be required.
