BestWestern Plus Ottawa City Centre is seeking a skilled construction worker to read blueprints, measure, cut, assemble and install materials at the on-site location. You will help build foundations, install floors, walls and roofing, and coordinate daily site activities.

You should have 1–2 years of experience, the ability to work with wood and metal, and reliable teamwork and communication. This is a green job contributing to environmental preservation and requires a criminal record check and

Qualifications

Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites.
Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.
