Woodhouse Contracting Ltd is seeking a skilled carpenter to perform layouts, measure and cut materials, and construct and renovate wooden structures on-site across multiple locations in Canada. The role includes supervising apprentices and coordinating with a team to ensure safety and quality on every project.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of relevant experience, and strong communication and reliability.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures.
• Operate hand tools and use safety gear according to regulations.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine work requirements.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, subflooring and walls.
• Install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TASKS

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Instruct apprentices
• Supervise other workers
• Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
