Renewable Energy Forecasting and Analytics Lead

BBA has a fast-growing advisory business and is strengthening its position in the renewable power sector, building on its momentum across Canada and expanding into the United States and internationally.

Position Type: Régulier

This role involves leveraging industry expertise to develop capabilities and deliver services in wind and solar energy resource assessment, energy yield forecasting, and performance analytics. Reporting to the Senior Advisor – Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage, the successful candidate will manage client projects, identify capability gaps, and mentor junior staff.

BBA operates as a matrix organization with a national focus and growing international presence, executing projects across Canada, the U.S., and Chile.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage projects related to resource assessment and energy forecasting.
• Identify skills gaps and recruit talent accordingly.
• Mentor and train junior staff.
• Stay updated on industry trends and methodologies.
• Engage with clients and internal teams to deliver strategic and technical solutions.

Business Development:

• Build relationships within the renewable energy sector in Canada and the U.S.
• Expand existing client relationships and pursue new opportunities.

Proposal Support:

• Contribute to proposal development with technical expertise.

Required Competencies:

• Extensive experience in renewable energy project development, execution, and technical aspects.

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree and registered Professional Engineer.
• Minimum 15 years in electric power sector; 10+ years in wind/solar resource assessment.
• Experience with meteorological equipment, assessment software, programming, and risk analysis.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Additional Assets:

• Experience with battery energy storage systems.
• Bilingual in English and French and/or Spanish.
