Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority in Nanaimo is seeking a Dietitian for the Kidney Care Clinic (KCC) to join a multi-disciplinary team. You will assess and plan nutrition care for renal patients, develop guidelines, and participate in quality improvement.

The position requires BC dietitian licensure, a bachelor's in nutrition and dietetics, internship, and renal nutrition experience. This temporary full-time role starts Oct 19, 2026 and ends Apr 26, 2028, with bi-weekly hours and CRC clearance

Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in nutrition and dietetics.
Graduate of an accredited Dietetic Internship Program or equivalent acceptable to the facility.
Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Dietitian.
Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC).
Two years recent hospital dietetic experience in general acute care medicine required, with minimum 1-year renal experience; or Board certification in renal nutrition by the ADA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Provide a broad spectrum of nutrition services to Kidney Care Clinic clients within a multi-disciplinary team.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nutritional goals and care plans.
Develop nutritional practice guidelines and procedures for provincial renal programs and health authority.
Initiate practice-based research in collaboration with the health care team.
