Job summary

Interior Health Authority in Castlegar and Nelson, BC, seeks a Relief Part Time Clinical Dietitian for Long-term Care to support three sites: Talarico Place Castlegar, Nelson Fairview Gardens, and Nelson Jubilee Manor. The role focuses on nutrition assessment, planning, counseling and care coordination with a multidisciplinary team.

This relief position covers until the return of the incumbent, with opportunities to contribute to nutrition guidelines and quality improvement initiatives within

Qualifications

• Experience with enteral nutrition and dysphagia is an asset.
• Relief role; part-time coverage until incumbent returns.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents and groups according to policies and procedures.
• Perform nutrition assessment, care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring.
• Counsel and educate, consult with multidisciplinary teams, and act as a nutrition resource.
• Contribute to development of nutrition practice guidelines and quality improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.

We are seeking a Relief Part Time Clinical Dietitian | Long-term Care.

This position supports three sites: Talarico Place in Castlegar, B.C. and Nelson Fairview Gardens and Nelson Jubilee Manor in Nelson, BC.

Experience with enteral nutrition and dysphagia experience is an asset.

Days of work: Alternating Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Days

Shift times: 08:30 to 16:30

This is a relief position until the return of incumbent.

What will you work on?

The Dietitian is a member of a multidisciplinary health care team and provides nutrition care and support to individuals, patients, residents and groups according to established policies, standards and procedures.

Utilizing clinical techniques and knowledge, the Dietitian provides nutrition services through: nutrition assessment; care planning and charting; intervention, goal setting and monitoring; counseling and education programs; consults and communicates with the multidisciplinary care teams; acts as a resource to other health professionals and communities within Interior Health.

The Dietitian provides input to the Professional Practice Leader by participating in the development of nutrition practice guidelines and procedures; research and continuous quality improvement initiatives for the facility and program.

The Dietitian liaises and advises food service staff on patient/resident care issues and menu development.
