Job summary

Affirm is seeking a motion-forward Visual Designer to elevate visuals across its product ecosystem. You will craft animation, illustration, and motion-driven storytelling for in-app surfaces, web, emails, and product launches.

This remote-first role demands strong craft in animation, visual design, and UX thinking, with a focus on cohesive, accessible experiences and scalable design systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in motion, animation, visual, or product design.
• Portfolio shows motion and visual-design craft across digital products.
• Strong animation knowledge: timing, pacing, easing, transitions, choreography; use After Effects, LottieFiles, Rive.
• Mastery of Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; After Effects and LottieFiles experience.
• Familiar with HTML/CSS and production constraints (email/mobile).
• UX/product-design experience with end-to-end user flows.
• Ability to storyboard, prototype, and communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design motion-forward experiences across in-app surfaces, web, email, lifecycle comms, and product marketing.
• Create animations, motion studies, animated illustrations, iconography, and interaction patterns.
• Own defined visual and motion-design projects from concept to production and implementation.
• Contribute to product-design initiatives by mapping user flows and developing interaction concepts.
• Create and extend reusable visual assets, motion patterns, guidelines, and components.
• Collaborate with Product Design, Design Systems, Product, Engineering, Brand, Content Design, Lifecycle, and Growth partners.
• Prepare production-ready assets and specifications with engineers to ensure accessibility and performance.
