Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Senior Embedded Reliability Engineer with a deep background in protection and control systems for T&D applications. You will drive reliability initiatives across hardware and software, leading cross-functional teams to ensure system resilience and regulatory compliance.

You will analyze field data, develop predictive maintenance strategies, and collaborate with utilities to advance grid modernization while embedding reliability from concept through deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
• Extensive experience in reliability, systems, or product engineering in energy/utility sector.

Responsibilities

• Perform reliability modeling and statistical analysis of energy management and protection/control products.
• Develop and execute reliability test plans including HIL, environmental and stress testing.
• Conduct FMEA, FMECA, and RCA for hardware/software failures across embedded systems.
• Ensure Design for Reliability is embedded from concept to deployment.
• Analyze field data to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with utilities to support grid asset performance and modernization initiatives.
• Develop reliability KPIs (MTBF, FIT rate, availability) and integrate into quality programs.
• Identify predictive maintenance strategies using remote diagnostics, SCADA, and sensor data.
• Stay aligned with regulatory standards (NERC, IEEE, IEC) and cybersecurity considerations.
