Job summary
Government of Alberta is seeking a Sr. Messaging Specialist for the Cloud Platform Services team. The contract role focuses on Exchange Online, MS Teams, and M365 security, supporting GoA's cloud messaging environment and related services.

Qualifications
- Must have degree or diploma in IT, CS, Math or Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work evenings/weekends and outside normal Government of Alberta hours.
- Experience designing, planning, implementing and supporting on-premises Exchange 2016/2019 and Exchange Online in a large org.
- Experience supporting email security services like anti-spam and anti-phishing, and access management.
- Experience supporting Skype for Business or Microsoft Teams in an enterprise.
- Experience with Microsoft architecture, installation and administration in a multi-server env.
Responsibilities
- Apply operation guidelines to enhance departmental workflows.
- Review new services and assess impact, advising on remediation.
- Develop action plans, schedules and estimates for deployments.
- Assist in developing task lists and resource assignments for deployments.
- Evaluate current services and recommend remedial actions.
- Hands-on implementation and troubleshooting of messaging infrastructure.
- Provide quality control on production implementations.
- Develop and maintain documentation and messaging procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members and ministries.
- Cross-train and transfer knowledge to team members.
