About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Instructional Designer to join their dynamic, fully remote team. This role is central to developing innovative and effective learning experiences across various platforms and modalities. The Senior Instructional Designer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of engaging e-learning courses, training programs, and educational content. Working from anywhere in South Africa, you will collaborate with subject matter experts, project managers, and multimedia developers to translate complex information into accessible and impactful learning solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, engaging e-learning courses, blended learning programs, and other instructional materials using adult learning principles.
• Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze learning needs, define learning objectives, and gather content.
• Translate complex technical or business information into clear, concise, and effective learning content.
• Create storyboards, scripts, assessments, and other instructional design documents.
• Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and multimedia elements to create interactive learning experiences.
• Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
• Conduct needs analyses and performance gap analyses to identify appropriate learning solutions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through various assessment and feedback mechanisms.
• Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in instructional design, learning technologies, and adult education.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior instructional designers or team members as needed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a related role, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing e-learning content for diverse audiences.
• In-depth knowledge of adult learning theories (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom's Taxonomy).
• Proficiency with industry-standard authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate).
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a remote work environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in multimedia development (video, graphics) is a plus.
