Job summary

Cohere is hiring a Senior Security Operations Engineer to lead security across cloud environments and automation initiatives. You will partner with leadership and engineering to reduce risk while enabling scalable secure deployments.

The role emphasizes hands-on security engineering, incident response, and tooling automation across AWS/GCP/Azure/OCI and Kubernetes clusters, with a global, remote-friendly team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SecOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Security, or Threat Detection & Response.
• Hands-on security engineer focused on automating controls.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI) and Kubernetes environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor to leadership and partner teams on security risks.
• Harden cloud-native environments with secure-by-default designs.
• Own and drive secure architectures using IaC and reusable code libraries.
• Manage IAM/RBAC and ensure unified access control across the board.
• Deploy security services and tools (SIEM, SOAR, endpoint tooling, cloud security tooling).
• Respond to security incidents and harden environments post-incident.
• Gather and analyze security metrics for cross-team initiatives.
• Collaborate with developers to balance build vs buy decisions.
