Jobgether is partnering with a Canada-based role for a Security Engineer III - Security Operations. You will own detection and response capabilities, from writing rules to automating responses, across Elastic SIEM and AWS.

The role emphasizes cloud-native threat detection, incident investigations, and security tooling development with Python and IaC practices. You will participate in on-call rotations, contribute to SOC 2 and PCI DSS readiness, and collaborate in a globally distributed team that

Qualifications

• Hands-on security operations experience with cloud-native threat detection.
• Proficient in Python for scripting, automation, and tooling.
• Experience building, tuning, and maintaining SIEM detections (Elastic preferred).
• Experience with AWS security, cloud-native detection/response.
• Familiarity with Terraform or other IaC tools.
• Strong incident triage, investigation, and documentation skills.

Responsabilités

• Own end-to-end detection and response initiatives from rules to automated workflows.
• Build and tune detections across Elastic SIEM and AWS environments.
• Triage alerts, investigate incidents, escalate when needed, drive issues to resolution.
• Document investigations, findings, and risk decisions clearly for stakeholders.
• Develop runbooks and automation with Python and no-code tools to reduce manual work.
• Contribute to audit-ready controls for SOC 2 and PCI DSS compliance.
• Use Terraform and Python to enhance security tooling and infrastructure.
• Participate in on-call rotation for monitoring and incident response.
