Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Security Operations Analyst to help train AI in detecting and responding to security incidents. You will work remotely on an hourly contract, contributing hands-on SOC expertise to improve AI-driven detection, investigation, and response workflows.

The role emphasizes independent work, analyzing real-world SOC scenarios, and providing expert feedback to enhance model accuracy and usefulness in enterprise security operations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on SOC, IR, or security operations experience.
• Solid familiarity with SIEM, alert triage, and end-to-end investigations.
• Ability to separate true positives from false positives and articulate reasoning.
• Detail-oriented with a systematic approach to analysis.
• Comfortable working independently and asynchronously.

Responsibilities

• Analyze SOC scenarios—alerts, incidents, and investigation workflows to assess significance.
• Classify severity levels, determine root causes, and recommend actions.
• Review AI-generated detection logic for accuracy and alignment with real-world triage.
• Validate AI responses against experienced analysts' triage and responses.
• Distinguish genuine signals from noise to help AI learn the difference.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI model quality.
