Job summary

Town of Caledon is seeking an Associate, Building Services to deliver front-line customer service for the division and to review and issue building, pool enclosure, and sign permit applications. You will ensure submissions are complete and compliant with the Building Code Act and Town policies.

The role requires a post-secondary diploma in Architectural/Civil Engineering or related field, 1–2 years in construction or municipal government, and familiarity with AMANDA, Bluebeam, and Arc Explorer.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in Architectural, Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 1–2 years related experience in construction or municipal government in building permit process.
• Knowledge of AMANDA, Bluebeam and Arc Explorer would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Review permit applications to ensure completeness and compliance with the Building Code Act, OBC, Town By-laws and policies.
• Identify internal/external approvals and regulatory requirements applicable to proposals.
• Answer calls, manage submissions, book inspections, and address potential violations.
