Job summary

Cognizant in Canada is seeking a Python Developer for API and Data Integration to design, build, and support Python-based applications, data pipelines, and RESTful APIs. You will work on Azure and AWS deployments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable integrations.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of experience, strong SQL skills, and hands-on experience with data processing, Databricks or Snowflake, and RBAC/security practices.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python development and integrations.
• Strong SQL/database development abilities.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and web services.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support Python-based applications, integrations, automation workflows, and data processing solutions.
• Build and maintain data ingestion and integration pipelines using Python, SQL, Databricks, and/or Snowflake.
• Develop, manage, and integrate RESTful APIs to enable secure communication across enterprise applications and platforms.
• Collaborate with application teams to understand system architecture, data flows, and access requirements.
• Support application onboarding activities, including authentication, authorization, and access management integrations.
• Implement and maintain security policies, role-based access controls (RBAC), and data protection standards.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data validation processes.
• Deploy, monitor, and support solutions within Azure and/or AWS cloud environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, security, and platform-related issues.
• Partner with business, platform, and security stakeholders to design and deliver scalable and secure enterprise solutions.
• Follow best practices for coding, testing, documentation, and operational support.
